BORNEO SPONENBURG, EL PRIMER PROYECTO IMPORTANTE DE WEST-8

Borneo-Sponenburg es una densa zona residencial levantada sobre un pólder de Amsterdam entre 1993 y 1997. , Fue uno de los grandes iconos de la arquitectura en su momento.Tambien significó el punto de partida de West 8, estudio holandés con multitud de obras en todo el mundo en estos momentos, especialmente a escala urbana, y que realizó el Plan Especial de la zona.

Borneo Se caracteriza por la densidad, , la tipología de la casa patio.c, y las edificaciones de poca alttura, con dos torres icónicas realizadas por Neutelings Riedijk y por Wiel Arets, y dos inmensos bloques en manzana cerrada diseñados por De Architekten Cie. y por Hans Kolhoff. El resto de bloques de la actuación son viviendas en hilera, a excepción del área en la que nos extendemos en las fotos: un área heterogénea de viviendas unifamiliares, de mínima crujía, con vacíos y patios en su interior, con enorme libertad para los autores de cada proyecto para hacer lo que quisieran dentro de su solar. La lista de arquitectos que diseñaron algunas de las vivienda está llena de nombres conocidos, como Koen van Velsen, de Architectengroep o MVRDV. El resultado es interesantísimo.

Precisamente de MVRDV es este edificio, las viviendas Wozoco, contemporáneas del desarrollo de Borneo, y que no podíamos dejar sin publicar pese a estar emplazadas en otra zona de Amsterdam
